ABOUT US
Atlantic RIBs was first introduced into the world in 1969 when a handful of young ‘good looking chaps’ wanted to enter into The BP - Round Britain Powerboat Race and needed a boat. Headed up by John Caulcutt and his best friend Graeme Dillon, they approached Atlantic College in Wales who were in the middle of building a plywood bottomed boat with tubes attached to it and asked them to build a boat.
The boat that arrived on the start line in Portsmouth in 1969 was Psychedelic Surfer (343) when fully pumped up she was over 21ft long (minimum length) and no one had ever seen anything like it, named the Atlantic 21, she completed every leg of the race.
One could be fooled in thinking that the rest was history, but John and Graeme went onto race in the 1984 Round Britain race in a Flatacraft 21ft rib and then again in 2008 in a Revenger 32.
In 2022 Atlantic Ribs Brokerage was launched and co founded by Carl Whitewood and John Caulcutt with the ultimate goal to help market and sell ribs and family boats for our clients, which would allow people to continue to enjoy the water!
